Ryan Schultz - 6’ 1”, 240 lbs (OL)- named all-Conference as a junior at Right Tackle. Ryan made great strides last year and has worked hard in the off-season to continue that progress. His increased agility may see him move to the interior of the offensive line this year.
Nick Nixon - 5’ 3”, 180 lbs (HB)- Served as the back-up to all-Europe HB Will Canfield last year. With Canfield’s departure, Nixon will be asked to step up and take the lead role. Despite his lack of height, Nixon displays a nice burst from the backfield and uses his lower center of gravity and leg drive to churn out additional yardage.
Joel Wetlesen - 6’ 5”, 245 lbs (OL)- Arrived after start of football last year. Raw talent that has a great OT build. He has a powerful lower base, good quick feet, long arms and strong hands. Will make and immediate impact this year.
Andrew Groteleuschen - 5’ 11”, 170 lbs (IR/DB)- Andrew is a sure handed receiver that excelled in the slot last year. He has an innate ability to find the open spot in the defense. Although he may not deliver the big hit on defense, he is a sure, technically proficient tackler.
Nick Smith - 6’ 2”, 235 lbs (OL)- Missed all but one game last year due to knee surgery. Smith will be called upon to step up his game and shore up the offensive line next year.
Anthony Sledge - 6’ 2”, 195 lbs (WR/DB)- Tall receiver with good hands. Anthony uses his stride well to get into the defensive backfield quickly. This year he will need to work on being more consistent and step up as the number one receiver with the early departure of all-Europe receiver Aaron Salcido. As a defensive back he will not hesitate to come up and deliver a big hit but needs to continue to improve on play recognition.
