Division I
Ramstein (5-1) @ Heidelberg (6-0)
Defending 2009 champion versus 2010 Division I South Champion. This has been the Super 6 matchup for the last 5 years. One will not make the Super 6 this year. Ramstein has gotten better week by week. Heidelberg has dominated from the start. The Royals hope that they have improved enough to compete with the Lions. Should be a titanic battle….who will be the “ship” and who will be the “iceberg”? Early odds favor the mature, athletic Lions, but strange things can happen when these two traditional rivals meet.
Wiesbaden (3-3) @ Filton (5-1)
Wiesbaden has been hot and cold. Filton is a solid team, but there is no crossover comparison. If Wiesbaden brings a solid defense, can they outscore the Pride? It is a long trip for the often explosive Warriors, but Filton is no secret anymore. Filton has been challenged strongly in the last two games. Is their “new kid on the block” edge gone? If Wiesbaden brings their “A” game, will that be enough?
Division II
ISB (3-3) @ Mannheim (5-1)
The solid, steady Raiders get a re-match with a team they lost to 21-14, just two weeks ago. The first game was settled by a poor punt snap. Mannheim is more explosive and Mannheim has more skilled athletes than ISB, but don’t count out the boys from Brussels. After close losses to Mannheim and Bitburg and an upset win over Ansbach, the Raiders have shown that they are not to be over looked. Mannheim is on a mission in their last year as a school and would love to play in their first Super 6.
Naples (4-2) @ Bitburg (6-0)
Bitburg, like Ansbach, has played in several Super 6 games, so they have been there before. The early money is on big Barons team. Naples is a solid team, with good athletes. Can they match up to the powerful offensive line of the Barons? It is a long trip from Naples to Bitburg. If Naples can handle the Bitburg running game, it could be a very competitive game.
Division III
Rota (2-3) @ Alconbury (4-1)
Rota bites off a big chunk in this match-up. Alconbury is very talented and was the pre-season favorite. Their only loss comes from a forfeit. Rota came up short a few weeks ago in a big loss to this same bunch of Dragons. What new things can Rota bring to the table? Which Admiral team will show up…the team that scored 56 against Menwith Hill or the team that lost to Alconbury last time?
Menwith Hill (1-4) @ Sigonella (5-0)
This may be a closer game than the records show. Tiny Menwith Hill is very competitive with Sigonella. The travel gives the edge to Sigonella, but it should be a battle.
